2022 being one of the most disappointing years when it comes to sports game releases. Esports has released their early football simulation update.

FIFA 23 has taken few steps to improve the core game gameplay on the pitch play, but it largely disappoints when it comes to the changes inside the game, providing very few changes inside the game this time around.

Sure, the game has improved with the new high promotion two technology, but a lack of investment in career mode and only slight changes in the other modes feels like a missed opportunity. On the surface, those changes are quite hard to spot.

There are none of those big headline changes that will make the game new, even though there are some changes like the new free kicks and the new penalties. But there are more smaller tweaks that have been made that you have to notice while playing the game.

Mostly all of those smaller changes being very beneficial towards the gameplay of the game. One thing I can say, EA has hit a sweet spot when it comes to the pace of the game.

It is quite slower, much slower than FIFA 22, but it feels quite realistic and very close to the real-life sport we are used to watching. There is a considerable change on how players move on the game this year. There is a very big difference between Kelly and Mbappe.

Even the similar class of players have their own running styles which will create a lot of difference between them. This definitely helps the game looking better and feeling better and adding personality to each and every player, which then takes it quite close to their real-life counterparts.

Even though the running styles have changed. Just running pasture opening isn't the answer of this game. You have to be a past masters to get past your open end. Unfortunately, passing has become quite difficult this year, almost nerfing it to a point where it's quite difficult to pass around the ball. This has been done to increase the skill gap between the players, even though the new players might struggle hitting the ropes of the new passing mechanics once its master can do wonders for you and also creates a big skill gap between the good players and the new ones. Similarly, there's a new layer to the finishing of this game this year.

The new PowerShot add a layer of risk reward mechanic inside the game. Get it right and you'll get a shot fizzing like a rocket in the back of the net. But if you miss your shot, you might even end up in this dance. PowerShot add a new layer of fun towards the game.

So, if you really like shooting from distance, PowerShot might be the mechanic for you. While the new attacking AI has changed drastically, same cannot be said for the defensive counterparts of this game. I enjoy defending, but I don't think so. Fat 23 is a type of game that is made for players like me. Clean sheets inside this game come as a premium and you rarely see score lines that are low. Fifa 23 is a high octane, high scoring game with little or to no emphasis towards the defensive sides of the game. It's more attackers and power shots and more glory to be achieved outside and inside the box.

With Pace still being the primary factor and is the king in this game, especially in the new online chemistry system inside Ultimate Team people generally make squads with more pace everywhere, leading in games that are extremely ping pongy and counterattacking.

Since Pace being the primary king again, people have access to more players they can use because of the new chemistry system. This game plays like table tennis with action flowing back and forth in a matter of seconds. The new collision system and the new power slide mechanics actually result in more robust challenges. Slide tackles actually result in you gaining position rather than the ball ricocheting all over the place, which makes it quite satisfying sometimes to perform a power slide tackle which is RB plus your slide tackle button and regain possession with force.

There have been considerable changes when it comes to the presentation of the game. You will see new match previews like sport broadcasters in real life, there are new cinematics that are autogenerated with the two teams that you're going to play the match with. This adds a new layer of authenticity and adds excitement to the games that you're trying to play. Some noticeable changes being like the grass on the pitch has completely changed this year, making the game look more vibrant and being ready for the World Cup this year. Also considering that we will get a new World Cup mode this year as well. Inside the game now switching over to modes.

There haven't been much big leaps inside other modes inside the game with player career seeing the most changes with the new personality plus feature, seeing a new development section where you can categorize between three personalities. You can even spend your money as a player personality inside your player career, investing your money inside an Esports team or completely blowing it off in a sports car. Player career has seen a lot of changes, but same cannot be said for the manager career side of things. There's just a new feature where you'll see new cinematics for your manager career. There are new faces added inside the game.

You can play highlights of the matches, but that's about it. There's also a new menu inside Career mode which does not look new by any sorts and does not add any value to the game of last year. It's clear that Career mode isn't EA's focus. Though? And why would it be? When Ultimate Team brings the player bases and the revenue that it does? FIFA Ultimate Team is obesity in its own right, with naturally having the most changes every year. This mode also has seen a lot of changes this year, with Foot Moments being their primary. The flagship mode for Foot Ultimate Team this year, where you play through chapters of a player's life, the main objective of Foot Moments is to recreate moments of a football player in their career or something that happened in the last weekend.

I hope Ea is listening because FIFA is our beloved football simulation franchise even though the attention to details is remarkable is still needs some work on the pitch for it successes to have any meaning is still plays like very good game of football but this year's good doesn't quite cut it all in all improvement to enjoy inside this game but there is very little to shout about except the new free kicks and the new ultimate team chemistry system .
