Bear and Breakfast review a hidden gem nobody is talking about

I am writing this review with 2.8 hours of gameplay | I have not got very far in the game, but with what I've seen thus far, I'm already heavily impressed. My Review may have some references that may be considered spoilers for certain individuals, please read at your own risk, I did try to mark those as spoilers.

STORY:

The game lore kind of just starts you off very dark and edgy, hinting that, despite the care-free happy-go-lucky vibes the game and the game's advertisement show you, there is probably a much more possibly dark and deeper meaning behind the game. In fact, several times throughout the very story heavy intro and first parts of the game it is hinted that the woodland and for the most part, human-free start besides so far, the bus driver and park ranger, had previously burned down putting a lot of our wildlife friends and characters at risk making a lot of them- including MC's mom to have resentment and an avoid-humans-at-all-costs outlook. In fact, our beloved bear protagonist and his friends who seemed to also be foster children, were not allowed to go outside the forest by MC's mom.

There are some odes to actual real-life wildlife that heavily impressed me and caused me to go on a googling spree to learn more about forest wildlife which was what ultimately made me rush this review despite very little gameplay that REALLY helped immerse myself more into the story. Our Protag's dog friend is a Karelian BEAR dog. In real life, these dogs are used to not only protect humans but bears as well from most of North American bears and the practice to use Karelian Bear Dogs to heard- or in extreme cases where bears ARE a danger to themselves or humans hunt them- the bears back into their habitat and is a practice used by several Wildlife Reservation parks in North America, as well as, where they originated this practice in Karuizawa, Japan. In Karuizawa, Japan, which is northwest from Tokyo, Karelian bear dogs helped reduce the number of bears related incidents in 2006 at a high of 255 to only four in 2017. So, the fact, that they used this character to help immerse you into "*Why would a dog be chilling with a bear here? *" but also emphasized this particularly newer dog breed into the game, is honestly- just very well written. I look forward to seeing more characters in this game to educate myself on their species as well!

GRAPHICS:
 I am running this game with a GTX 1080 at maximum setting. I have absolutely no technical issues running this game so far which is somewhat a given with mostly what seems to be hand drawn characters. All of the characters are animated and their linework is well done as well. At times, I feel like I'm watching the Regular Show in which some of this artwork may be inspired by some of Cartoon Network's shows and similar.

GAMEPLAY:
The game itself so far has been very fun to play, there is a lot so far to explore, resources seem for the most part to be plenty, it's pretty easy to get overstocked on stuff so far since you can just grind them out by leaving areas and going back in and picking up all of the wood. They walk you through how the game works pretty quickly and without much big brain tactics needed. It's pretty relaxing so far and having explored some of the areas there seems to be lots of businesses and buildings to refurbish beyond the original Bed and Breakfast shed area they start you at.

MUSIC:
The music is well done, there is one track, I can't place my finger on it right now that seems to slightly agitate my partially half deaf ears to no oblivion- but that's probably just because of my disability.

OTHER NOTABLE POSITIVE SIDES TO THIS GAME:

+ you love farming/management/crafting sims
+ you love easy going story driven crafting management sims
+ *positive bear noises*
+ need I point out karelian BEAR dogs again?
+ for $19.99USD and what I've seen the game seems to be really worth it. I am barely out of the intro and at almost 3 hours of gameplay.
+ karelian bear dog
+ immense lore, collectibles, etc.

++++CONS++++
+ uh, I don't think there are any cons so far that are highly notable besides varying from person to person
+ I do wish you could sprint or something

BUGS I HAVE DISCOVERED:

none.

++++++CONCLUSION: +++++++
